Learning outcomes
- Understand the differences between donkey and horse hooves, including radiographic findings.
- Recognise a lame donkey.
- Understand how to trim a normal donkey hoof and an overgrown hoof.
- Identify and treat common conditions of the donkey hoof.
- Understand the welfare implications of poor hoof care and lameness.
- Understand how to manage challenging donkey behaviour when working with hooves.
- Provide effective analgesia, at the appropriate dose and intervals for donkeys.
